Chewy Dropship EDI integration: customer orders in, fulfillment and margin in Rilk

Chewy Dropship order management — single-customer dropship orders arriving through SPS Commerce, picked and shipped from your own warehouse in the same Rilk inbox as your Amazon and Walmart orders. Connecting directly instead? We'll set that up with you.

Chewy's dropship program is the other half of selling to Chewy. Instead of a wholesale PO for cases headed to a Chewy fulfillment center, you get an order for one pet parent — a crate, a 40-pound bag, an aquarium stand — that ships from your dock straight to their door under Chewy's name. The cadence looks like marketplace orders, not wholesale: many small shipments a day, each with a customer address and a delivery expectation attached. Sell on Chewy with Rilk. Already on SPS Commerce? Your Chewy Dropship orders flow in today. Connecting directly instead? We'll set that up with you.

What you can do

  • Chewy Dropship orders land in Rilk as they arrive in your SPS Commerce mailbox, each with the ship-to customer and every line on it.
  • Pick them with your marketplace orders. A Chewy Dropship order and an Amazon order for the same dog bed come off the same pick list, from the same shelf.
  • One count across everything. The unit a Chewy Dropship order takes comes out of the same on-hand your Amazon, Walmart, and eBay listings sell from — no rationing stock for Chewy.
  • Buy the label in Rilk on UPS, FedEx, USPS, or DHL, bulky pet gear included, and get the shipment out the door the same day.
  • Know the margin per order — cost basis and label cost on every line, Chewy's remittance posted on the settlements screen.
  • Nothing changes on the SPS side. Ship notices and invoices keep going back to Chewy through your SPS connection.

What's supported

  • Live today via SPS Commerce — Chewy Dropship orders imported from your SPS mailbox, read-only; Rilk never touches a file.
  • Order intake with the customer's ship-to address and full line-item detail, into the same inbox as every other channel.
  • SKU matching by the part numbers on the order; an unmatched line is flagged for mapping, not dropped.
  • One stock pool with Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, and BackMarket.
  • Pick, pack, and labels for UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL — oversized and heavy pet items handled like everything else.
  • Per-unit cost and profit on every dropship order, reconciled against Chewy's remittance on the settlements screen.
  • Direct connection on request — not on SPS Commerce? We'll set Chewy up with you directly.

How the Chewy Dropship inventory sync works

  1. Enable SPS Commerce in Rilk with the mailbox your Chewy Dropship orders already arrive in, and turn on Chewy Dropship as a trading partner. Rilk reads the mailbox and leaves every file where it is — your SPS Adapter keeps collecting them as before.
  2. Each dropship order shows up as a Chewy Dropship order in Rilk — one customer, one ship-to address, usually a line or two — with each line matched to your SKU by the part number Chewy sent. Rilk keeps it separate from wholesale Chewy POs so the picker knows this one goes to a front porch, not a warehouse.
  3. The unit comes out of the same count your marketplace listings draw from. Ship a crate to a Chewy customer and your Amazon and Walmart quantities for that crate drop in step, so a busy dropship day never oversells the listing.
  4. Pick, pack, buy the label — same screen as your Amazon orders. Heavy bags and bulky gear get rate-shopped across UPS, FedEx, USPS, and DHL; the ship notice with tracking goes back to Chewy through your SPS connection.
  5. Each shipment knows what it made. The unit's cost basis and the label you just bought sit on the order; post Chewy's remittance on the settlements screen and Chewy Dropship inventory management and margin per shipment are one view — including the 40-pound bag that cost more to ship than it earned.

Why sell on Chewy Dropship with Rilk

Dropship for Chewy is marketplace-shaped work — dozens of small orders a day, each with a customer waiting and a delivery promise Chewy made on your behalf — but it arrives as EDI, so most vendors end up running it through a portal or a spreadsheet next to a warehouse system that never hears about it. That's how a dog bed sells twice: once to Chewy, once on Amazon, from a count nobody updated. Rilk takes the dropship order out of SPS and into the same inbox, the same pick list, and the same count your marketplace orders already use. Your team ships it like any other order, the label cost lands on it, and Chewy's remittance reconciles against it. One operation, one number per order — Chewy's customers just become customers.

Frequently asked questions

Does Chewy send dropship orders over EDI?

Yes. Chewy sends its dropship orders as EDI documents through SPS Commerce, and Rilk reads them straight out of the SPS mailbox you already receive them in — no re-keying and no portal to check. Rilk never writes to that mailbox: your acknowledgments, ship notices, and invoices stay on your own SPS connection, exactly as they run today.

Is Chewy Dropship different from the regular Chewy connection?

Yes. Regular Chewy purchase orders are wholesale — cases and pallets to a Chewy fulfillment center. Chewy Dropship orders ship from you to the pet parent directly. Rilk treats them as two trading partners so each order is obviously one or the other on the screen.

Do I need SPS Commerce for Chewy Dropship orders to reach Rilk?

If you're already receiving Chewy Dropship orders through SPS Commerce, they flow into Rilk today — Rilk reads them from your existing mailbox. If you're not on SPS or want to connect directly, tell us and we'll set that up with you.

Does Rilk send the ship confirmation and tracking to Chewy?

Not for orders arriving through SPS. The ship notice and invoice go back to Chewy over your SPS connection, the way they do now. Rilk gives your team the order to pick, the label to print, and the cost per unit; SPS carries the documents.

Can a Chewy Dropship order and an Amazon order share the same inventory?

Yes — that's the point. There's one count behind the SKU. When the Chewy order takes a unit, your Amazon, Walmart, and eBay quantities for it drop, so you list your real stock everywhere instead of holding units back for Chewy.
