How the Petco inventory sync works

1. Tick Petco in the SPS Commerce trading-partner list in Company Settings. Whether your agreement is distribution-center replenishment, ship-to-customer, or both, it's the same tick; Rilk reads the mailbox SPS provisioned and never writes to it.
2. A Petco PO turns into a Petco order in Rilk within minutes — lines matched to your SKUs by the part numbers on the PO, the ship-to carried through whether it's a distribution center or a single customer under your agreement with Petco. An unmatched line is flagged, not dropped.
3. Those units leave the same count your Chewy POs and Amazon listings draw from. A replenishment PO for 200 units of one SKU pulls your marketplace quantities down with it, so a retail order never turns into an oversell online.
4. Pack to whichever ship-to the PO carries. A distribution-center PO packs to the PO; a customer-direct order gets a UPS, FedEx, USPS, or DHL label bought in Rilk on the same screen as your Chewy orders. Either way the ship notice and invoice go back to Petco through your SPS connection.
5. Margin per PO, by program. Cost basis plus shipping on every unit, Petco's remittance posted on the settlements screen, and Petco inventory management and profit — replenishment and customer-direct side by side — are one view.

Does Petco send orders over EDI?

Yes. Petco sends its purchase orders as EDI documents through SPS Commerce, and Rilk reads them straight out of the SPS mailbox you already receive them in — no re-keying and no portal to check. Rilk never writes to that mailbox: your acknowledgments, ship notices, and invoices stay on your own SPS connection, exactly as they run today.

Do I need to be on SPS Commerce to connect Petco to Rilk?

If Petco already sends you purchase orders through SPS Commerce, no — Rilk reads them from your existing mailbox and they flow in today. If you aren't on SPS, or want to connect Petco directly, tell us and we'll set that up with you.

Does Rilk send documents back to Petco?

No. Acknowledgments, ship notices, and invoices stay on your SPS Commerce connection, exactly as they are now. Rilk reads the purchase orders and runs the fulfillment; it never writes to the mailbox.

Will Rilk update my inventory or item setup at Petco?

No. Petco is a purchase-order retailer, not a marketplace you list on — your item setup lives in your vendor agreement with Petco. Rilk's job is to take the units a Petco PO consumes out of the same count your Amazon, Walmart, and eBay listings sell from.

Can Petco and Chewy purchase orders run from the same inventory?

Yes. Both arrive through SPS Commerce into the same inbox, and both draw from the same stock pool as your marketplace listings. A Chewy PO and a Petco PO for the same SKU come out of one count, in the order they arrive.
